Welcome To Our Island!
Tourism Media Kit The Wildwoods, N.J. - More than 175 listings fill the Calendar of Events published by the Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority (GWTIDA), which also operates the Wildwoods Convention Center.

The yearly listing of special events in the resort that includes Wildwood, North Wildwood and Wildwood Crest continues to expand along with the number of shows and expositions at the Wildwoods Convention Center, a new, 260,000-square-foot facility situated along the Wildwood Boardwalk.

From firemen to fishing tournaments, music to marbles, the Wildwoods have developed a calendar of special events that is incomparable to other resort destinations.

The annual calendar of events not only draws visitors to the family resort, but also serves to provide additional activities and entertainment outlets to those already visiting for vacation or business. Throughout the past years, GWTIDA has helped various organizations and event promoters expand and improve their events with additional funding and promotions to draw millions of people to the resort for special events.

The Calendar of Events includes several new items, such as an exhibition by the Harlem Globetrotters, cheerleading championship competitions and foreign car shows. The calendar also includes the resort's well-established events such as the annual Irish Fall Festival, the Wildwoods International Kite Festival and the annual National Marbles Tournament.

Conventions, the staple of the Wildwoods pre-season event schedule, will begin with the Knights of Columbus Convention May, and continue with, the New Jersey State Elks, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The resort's largest convention, the annual New Jersey State Firemen's Association, will be held in September.

Every weekend, and most weekdays, the Wildwoods events calendar from May through October is filled with events and activities ranging from craft shows and Monster Trucks to Mummers brigades and motorcycle rallies.

In addition to individual event listings, weekly musical events held in the Wildwoods are held nearly every evening during the summer at various locations.

Most of the events included in the Calendar of Events are free to spectators or have nominal gate fees.

The Wildwoods Calendar of Events is available to the public and may be obtained by calling 1-800-WW-BY-SEA or visit www.WildwoodsNJ.com.
