The Wildwoods Wins Inner Circle Award
THE WILDWOODS, N.J. - The Wildwoods Convention Center has received the 2005 Inner Circle Award from Association Meetings Magazine as being one of the top convention centers in the country.

The designation as an Inner Circle Award Winner comes from a vote of readers of Association Meetings, who were asked to vote for convention centers that did the best job of handling their meetings in the past 12 months. Association meeting planners voted for convention centers that have provided superior facilities and service over the past 12 months in the areas of exhibit and meeting space, staff service, ease of dealing with local labor, catering services and technical support.

Association Meetings is a trade magazine published by Primedia Business Magazines and Media. The October edition of Association Meetings featured an article highlighting the Wildwoods Convention Center as one if its Inner Circle Award winners.

Since opening in 2002, the Wildwoods Convention Center has carved a niche for itself by providing superior convention facilities and accompanying amenities and service to associations and organizations that hold annual meetings or conventions. The 260,000-square-foot oceanfront center has proven to be a good match with meeting planners with social, military, educational, religious and fraternal (SMERF) organizations. The compatibility of the Wildwoods' family-oriented resort attractions and the state-of-the-art convention center with the desire of meeting attendees to bring their families has served to move the Wildwoods Convention Center to the top of the list of convention destinations.

Within the Wildwoods Convention Center itself, staff and management have consistently handled operations of meetings for associations and organizations efficiently and with expertise.

The Wildwoods Convention Center won its first Inner Circle Award from Association Meetings in 2004.

"To be chosen for this award by the people who have great familiarity with convention facilities throughout the country is a real honor," said John Siciliano, executive director of the Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority (GWTIDA), which operates the Wildwoods Convention Center. "These are the people who have used our facility and, through their voting, attest to the quality of our facility and their satisfaction after holding their events at the Wildwoods Convention Center. What's revealing to me is that our selection for the Inner Circle Award in 2004 wasn't a fluke: we have proven that our facility and staff are among the best for the second consecutive year," Siciliano added.

John Lynch, GWTIDA Director of Sales, said that he was pleased by the selection of the Wildwoods Convention Center for the Inner Circle Award. "Meeting planners who have held their events at the Wildwoods Convention Center are thrilled with the services and amenities we provide," said Lynch.

"The work we are doing now at the Wildwoods Convention Center not only maintains the business we have with existing clients, but is laying the foundation for us to attract new and larger events in the years to come," Lynch added.

The Wildwoods Convention Center is a 260,000-square-foot facility that can seat up to 7,000 people in its main exhibit hall. The total 75,000 square feet of exhibition area is dividable into two 37,500-square-foot exhibit rooms. The center's 11,700 square feet of ballroom space is dividable into three areas and there is more than 8,600 square feet of flexible meeting space. The Wildwoods Convention Center is complemented by a large oceanfront deck that is perfect for pre-functions for events and there is an additional 30,000 square feet of lobby space also suitable for pre-function events.

The Wildwoods Convention Center is situated on the beach and is accessed by the world-famous Wildwoods Boardwalk, which boasts 38 blocks of fun and excitement.
