| The Wildwoods Introduces Live Video Cam Viewable by Friends and Family Around the World | ||
| Wildwood, NJ, August 12, 2008 - Now you can do more than simply tell your friends about the fabulous vacation you had in the Wildwoods. They can tune in on the internet and watch you having fun - live! The Wildwoods Tourism Authority has introduced a new, live video streaming camera at the "WILDWOODS" sign, on the Boardwalk at Rio Grande Avenue, which can be viewed on the internet from anywhere in the world. When taking a trip to the Wildwoods, the new camera presents a great opportunity to plan a time for family and friends to go online at www.WildwoodsNJ.com, and click on the "Live Webcam" icon to actually see you waving to them. Signage is being placed at the site encouraging visitors to call family and friends back home to see them live on the webcam view while they're there. Family and friends can also save your picture. The Wildwoods' camera is part of the worldwide EarthCam network, which enables viewers to freeze a view at any time - similar to taking a photograph - so that it can be saved on a personal computer, e-mailed to a friend or archived among the many photos, including "Hall of Fame" views, saved at the Wildwoods' EarthCam website. The colorful "WILDWOODS" sign serves as a gateway to the resort providing a unique and colorful setting for the video stream and souvenir photos. The sign is almost 20 feet high and 80 feet long at the center of a large plaza bordering the beach and boardwalk, dotted with 30 oversized concrete beach balls - a perfect place for striking a pose; and the sign's letters themselves provide seats for the kids, or places for them to hide or peak from behind. The Wildwoods, already New Jersey's most popular family seashore resort, just became even more fun. For information about visiting the Wildwoods, contact the Wildwoods Tourism Authority toll-free at 1-800-WW-BY-SEA (1-800-992-9732) or on the web at www.WildwoodsNJ.com. | ||
