The Wildwoods Named Among Bloomberg Businessweek's Most Fun, Affordable Cities in America
The Wildwoods, NJ - August 15, 2011 - The Wildwoods have received another major honor this summer as the five-mile island was named among Bloomberg Businessweek's "America's Most Fun, Affordable Cities" list for 2011.

According to the Bloomberg Businessweek website, the Wildwoods are home to 150 dining locales ranging from upscale to family restaurants, along with an exciting nightlife including dance clubs, Irish pubs, lounges, sports bars, deck hangouts, and live bands. The dining and nightlife found in the Wildwoods, combined with the island's median home price of $306,250 and population of 14,931, earned the Wildwoods the #12 spot on Bloomberg Businessweek's list - which also includes Saint Augustine, Florida; Anchorage, Alaska; and Sacramento, California.

The list, generated from a new report from Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate and real estate data company Onboard Informatics evaluated 6,106 Zip Codes where the median home price is within 20 percent of the state's median home price. They then selected the 25 areas with the greatest number of bars and restaurants and generated a list of areas outside of major metropolises offering both affordable homes and a variety of restaurants and bars for locals.

Bloomberg Businessweek is one of the world's most widely read business magazines - providing a trusted, indispensable source of news and analysis for the largest, most powerful network of global business executives. With 2,300 media professionals in 146 bureaus across 72 countries, Bloomberg delivers award-winning intelligence, as news happens, from where it happens.

"Recognition from a distinguished publication like Bloomberg Businessweek is a huge honor for us in the Wildwoods," said John Siciliano, Executive Director for the Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement & Development Authority (GWTIDA). "Being a part of the publication's "America's Most Fun, Affordable Cities" list proves that, not only are we a perfect place to vacation, but the Wildwoods are also one of the country's best places to live, in terms of value and quality of life."

The Wildwoods have also been recognized as one of Sherman's Travel's "Top Ten American Boardwalks" from 2009-2011; one of TripAdvisor's top three "Travelers' Choice Family Award-Winning U.S. Amusement Park Destinations" and one of National Geographic Traveler's "Top 10 U.S. Boardwalks" in 2011; Smarter Travel's "Best Beach Town In America For a Classic Experience" in 2010; and one of Forbes Traveler's "Top Ten American Boardwalks" in 2009.

In addition to its dining, nightlife and median home price, the Wildwoods are also home to an award-winning boardwalk and nationally-recognized beaches - voted "Best Beaches in New Jersey" - that are FREE to enjoy, along with over 180 festivals and events throughout the year, plus the country's largest concentration of mid-century "Doo-Wop" architecture.
