The Wildwoods ‘Second Season’ Continues in October with Premier Events

Events Include The Race of Gentlemen, Oktoberfest, Wildwoods ’50s, ’60s & ’70s Weekend, Halloween Fun, & More

The Wildwoods, NJ – September 26, 2024 – The Wildwoods’ Second Season races into October with heart-pounding excitement and fun for all ages. The Wildwoods are the ideal location for a fall getaway with mild temperatures, less crowds, lower rates for accommodations, great restaurants, and lots of outdoor fun.

The following is a list of events taking place during October in the Wildwoods:

October 4-6 – The Race of Gentlemen (TROG)

The Race of Gentlemen beach drag races are a one-of-a-kind event that brings together the finest vintage vehicles and their fearless drivers for a thrilling display of speed, skill, and style. Feel the rumble of the engines and the excitement in the air as participants push their classic machines to the limit on the sandy shores of the Wildwood beach. Die-hard motorheads or folks just looking for an unforgettable experience will find exactly that at TROG. Marvel at the meticulously restored pre-1934 vehicles, chat with the passionate owners, and soak up the vibrant atmosphere of this unique gathering. October 4-6 – Wildwoods RV Show

South Jersey’s largest indoor end-of-year liquidation sale will be held inside the Wildwoods Convention Center, featuring the top brand recreational vehicles from New Jersey’s largest RV dealers, including Dylan’s RV Center, Driftwood RV Center, Whitehorse RV Center, and Cross Roads Trailers. There will also be many vendors for all your RV needs. Admission is $12 (cash only) at the door with children 12 years and under free. October 4-6 & 11-13 – Oktoberfest at Morey’s Mariner’s Pier

Mariner’s Pier will be open for its annual Oktoberfest weekend events. Enjoy live German music, food, and beer, and fun activities for all. Bands will be performing on Friday night, Saturday afternoon, Saturday night, and Sunday afternoon, entertaining the crowds under the giant Ferris Wheel on the Coca-Cola stage. Attendees will also be entertained by a group of musicians clad in traditional German costumes moving throughout the pier playing German-style music. Founder’s Grub and Pub, Wilhelm’s Beer Garden, as well as the concession stands will all feature authentic German food including Bavarian pretzels, bratwurst, German potato salad, schnitzel, and more, plus a large selection of authentic German beer will be available There will also be a RootBier Garden and family activities for all ages. October 5 & October 27 – Mudhen Brewing Co. Harvest Fest

Get ready for the Annual Harvest Festival at MudHen Brewing Company, 127 Rio Grande Ave.in Wildwood. Roll in the pumpkins and cut down the corn stalks – it’s time to celebrate the season! Join the festivities for an exciting Harvest Fest packed with live music, activities, and seasonal treats. October 5 – 21 Down Buddy Walk

Come together and support loved ones with Down Syndrome! Proceeds from the 21 Down Buddy Walk fundraiser support dances, beach day, and other activities throughout the year. Pre-walk activities include a DJ, dancing, face painting, games, raffles, 50/50, and more! Raffles will be drawn at 11:30 a.m. and the walk begins at noon with a $25 registration fee per walker. October 5 – Run the Crest

Run The Crest at Centennial Park in Wildwood Crest is more than just a race; it is an experience. Come to run and stay for fun! Post-race festivities include vendors, food trucks, live entertainment, and family fun. Events include Run The Crest 5K, Run, The Crest 10-Miler, Crest Combo, and Crest Kids Fun Run. October 12 – 8th Annual Unity Day

Enjoy a FREE fun filled day where churches, first responders, and the community unite to provide services and information to the public. October 18-19 – Wildwoods ’50s, ’60s & ’70s Weekend

Join us for this fabulous weekend of fun, nostalgia, and great music! Friday night, October 18, features a ’50s, ‘60s & ‘70s Dance Party at the Wildwoods Convention Center from 6:30-10:30 p.m. featuring The Cameos. Tickets are $20 per person.

Saturday, October 19, will feature a full day of outdoor fun and music during the FREE Street Fair at Fox Park, located across from the Wildwoods Convention Center on Ocean Avenue, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Street Fair will include live entertainment throughout the day featuring the great sounds of the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s with Animal House, Living Proof, and The Deck Band performing. Enjoy a variety of vendors offering memorabilia, merchandise, many delicious food options, and much more. A classic car show will be held at the circle in front of the Wildwoods Convention Center across from Fox Park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Saturday night, October 19, the concert in the Wildwoods Convention Center begins at 7 p.m. with doors open at 5 p.m. featuring Frankie Avalon, The Shirelles starring Beverly Lee, and The Lettermen. Tickets range from $54 to $89.50.

Tickets are on sale now. Dance Party Tickets are sold exclusively at the Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce (3306 Pacific Avenue, 609.729.4000), or at the door night of event. Saturday Night Concert tickets are available at Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce, all Ticketmaster locations, and at www.TicketMaster.com. Additional ticket sales will be at the Wildwoods Convention Center Box Office the weekend of the event.

October 19 – Bonfire on the Beach

Anglesea Irish Society & Greater Wildwood Jaycees invite you to bring a chair and blanket to the North Wildwood beach at 1st Street & Surf Avenue and enjoy the 14th Annual Bonfire on the Beach from 6-10 p.m. Admission is $15 (kids under 12 are $5). Musical entertainment will be provided. Refreshments and food will be available for purchase. Rain date is November 2.

October 27 & 28 – Byrne Community Center Haunted Gym & Trunk or Treat

Join the City of Wildwood’s FREE and fun-filled Trunk or Treat family event on Friday, October 27 at the J. Byrne Community Center at 406 W. Youngs Avenue from 5-8 p.m. (rain date Saturday, October 28 from 5-8 p.m.). Also, on Friday and Saturday from 5-8 p.m., you can walk through the Haunted Gym! October 28 & 29 Boo Fest – Makers Market

October 28 – Greater Wildwood Elks Halloween Haunted House

Bring your trick-or-treaters to the Greater Wildwood Elks Lodge and receive delicious Halloween treats as you walk through the “haunted house” at the Lodge, 109 West 1st Avenue in North Wildwood. October 28 – North Wildwood Trunk-or-Treat Block Party

Join in the FREE Halloween family fun at the annual North Wildwood Trunk-or-Treat Block Party, held along Olde New Jersey Avenue in North Wildwood! Vehicle check-in is at 4:30 p.m., and the event is from 5:30-7 p.m. with music, magic, balloon twisting, and more! Families are encouraged to bring their vehicles decorated for Halloween. Children will come in costume and visit each car, where families will provide treats from the trunks of their cars. There will be no judging of the children’s costumes, but prizes will be awarded to the best-decorated vehicles. Registration is free and forms are available at 900 Central Avenue in North Wildwood or at City Hall. All vehicles participating in the event must be registered.
