The four-hour show lineup, with 11 headlining acts is expected to attract over 200,000 spectators and generate millions in economic impact
The Wildwoods, NJ – April 22, 2025 – The Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority (GWTIDA) announces sponsorship opportunities for the 2025 ‘Thunder Over the Waves’ Airshow, taking place on September 5 & 6. Expected to attract over 200,000 spectators from across the northeastern region, this thrilling event presents a unique opportunity for sponsors to connect with an immense and diverse audience.
The four-hour airshow will feature more than 11 exhilarating headlining acts soaring over the Wildwoods’ scenic shoreline. Current sponsors include GWTIDA, South Jersey Transportation Authority (SJTA), The Greater Wildwood Hotel-Motel Association, The Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA), Madison Resorts, J. Byrne Insurance Agency, along with support from the Cape May County Department of Tourism.
Sponsorships provide an extraordinary platform to showcase a company’s brand while connecting with hundreds of thousands of aviation enthusiasts and visitors from across the Northeast. The Airshow will provide a substantial tourism boost to the Wildwoods and the greater southern Jersey shore region. Local businesses and organizations are invited to directly participate in the tremendous impact this event will create. GWTIDA anticipates this addition to its events schedule will support local and regional businesses and further establish the Wildwoods as a premier event destination and help to extend the traditional tourism season into the Fall.

GWTIDA is also in discussions regarding potential airshow events for 2026 and beyond with plans to make the airshow an annual September event. GWTIDA remains committed to extending the tourism season beyond the traditional Memorial Day to Labor Day timeframe. The airshow will be a completely free event for the public to attend.
