The Wildwoods, NJ Announce 4th of July Week Events Celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary

The Wildwoods, NJ – June 23, 2026 – The Wildwoods, NJ will host a slate of patriotic and family-friendly Fourth of July Weekend events in celebration of America’s 250th birthday celebration. All week long the Wildwoods are hosting a packed schedule of events focusing on patriotism and celebration of this monumental occasion. Additional events are scheduled leading up to, during, and after the fourth of July, rounding out a Wildwoods-style celebration of the country and those who serve it.

Sunday, June 28

Reenactment of Battle of Turtle Gut Inlet in Wildwood Crest

Taking place by Sunset Lake near New Jersey and Louisville avenues, reenactor regiments from across the region stage the Battle of Turtle Gut Inlet, the only Revolutionary War battle fought in Cape May County, on the shores and in the waters of Sunset Lake. Two 30-minute performances are scheduled at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 pm, free for spectators. The reenactment is supported by Cape May County Land of the Free, Celebration 250th grant program. Patriotic Drone Show in Wildwood Crest

Following the live music in the Sunset Lake Gazebo, a Patriotic Drone Show will take place over Sunset Lake at 9:15 p.m. on Monday, June 29. Held as part of Wildwood Crest’s 250th celebration events at Sunset Lake along New Jersey Avenue near Louisville Avenue. Baby Parade in Wildwood Crest

Wildwood Crest will host a Patriotic Baby Parade on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 6 p.m. in Centennial Park. This patriotic baby parade will feature infants and strollers decorated for the July 4 season! FREE to enter, and there will be prizes for the best-decorated. Registration details TBA. Friday Night Fireworks

Have a Blast on the Boards and enjoy FREE Friday Night Fireworks all Summer Long! Every Friday Night at 10 p.m., June 26 to September 4, enjoy this spectacular nighttime display of fireworks exploding to a musical score that is played all along the Boardwalk and is simulcast on 98.7 The Coast. Rain date is Sunday at 10 p.m. The Wildwoods Boardwalk Fireworks are launched from Pine Avenue & the Beach but can be viewed from anywhere on the beach or boardwalk. Patriotic 5K Beach Run in Wildwood Crest

Wildwood Crest hosts a Patriotic 5K Beach Run on Friday, July 3 at 7 p.m. beginning at Heather Road Beach. This 5K beach run on packed sand is open to all levels of runners. Sports Cards and Collectibles Show in the Wildwoods Convention Center

The Sports Cards, Toys, Comics & Collectibles Show will feature over 200 tables of the hottest collectibles on the planet! Featuring sports cards, non-sports cards, old and new toys, comic books, Pokémon sets, supplies, unopened packs and boxes, Funko Pops, non-sports cards, Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic, Beanie Babies, videos, jerseys, books, posters, coins, t-shirts, Legos, antiques and so much more! Independence Day Family and Pooch Parade in North Wildwood 

Check in at 13th and JFK Avenues, North Wildwood. Pooches check in at 12th and JFK Avenues. The parade starts at 12th Avenue and proceeds to 3rd and JFK Avenues. Prizes awarded for the best decorated bikes wagons, strollers, scooters and low speed vehicles in red, white and blue theme. FREE! No rain date. Downtown Wildwoods Farmers Market on July 4

The Farmers Market is held from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., every Saturday morning from Memorial Day to Labor day at in Byrne Plaza, 3400 Pacific Avenue, , and across the street at 3501 Pacific Avenue. With more than 70 vendors set up each week, visitors can always find something new! Shop fresh produce, like jersey tomatoes and corn, freshly baked items to eat while you stroll the market or to take home for dessert as well as fresh guacamole, made on-site, in addition to vendors selling homemade pickles, local honey, breakfast sandwiches, hot and cold coffee and drinks, jerky, granola, hot sauce, as well as a great assortment of craft beer, spirits and wine. Jump City Orchestra in Fox Park in Wildwood

Wildwood Crest’s Fourth of July Celebration

Wildwood Crest will kick-off the celebrations at Centennial Park with a live reading of the Declaration of Independence from the Centennial Park stage at 6:45 p.m., hosted by John Ryan of Cold Spring Village. At the closing of the reading, all military veterans and first responders will be asked to stand and be recognized. Live music begins at 7 p.m. with the Legacy Band. 78th Army Band Concert in Fox Park

Bring your chairs and blankets to Fox Park in Wildwood at 7 p.m. and enjoy a free concert featuring three groups! The 78th Army Band, is a premier U.S. Army Reserve unit made up of talented Soldier-musicians based in the tri-state area. Whether performing at high-profile ceremonies, public concerts, or national events, the band brings professionalism, pride, and powerful performances to every stage. As part of the Army’s musical outreach mission, the 78th includes a variety of specialized ensembles—each designed to connect with audiences through diverse musical styles.

Checkmate is the 78th Army Band’s premier rock and pop group, delivering high-energy sets that span classic rock, funk, country, and modern hits. Also, part of the 78th Army Band, 9X9 is a fast-paced punk rock group that brings raw energy and early 2000s nostalgia to every show.
