The City of Wildwood has partnered with the Let’s Rallie app to showcase historic music locations throughout the City. From Doo Wop to Disco and Rock n’ Roll to Country, our City has been a staple in American music history. Follow along on the app highlighting music halls from Park to Pacific Avenues and Schellenger Avenue to the Boardwalk. This tour is to pay homage to the hotels, bars, clubs, lounges, and venues that presented big names and was the birthplace for many of their careers. You might just discover something new along the way!
“This has been a great opportunity to preserve our island’s music history in a fun and interactive
way. We’ve had many first here, just last year Tony Orlando stated he remembered getting started at the Rainbow at fifteen years old. It’s incredible to be able to preserve this for future generations. Playing to our past and showing how Wildwood continues to be a music powered city.” Mayor Ernie Troiano, Jr.
This tour was made possible by funds from the Cape May County Board of County Commissioners via the Cape May County Division of Culture & Heritage, a partner of the New Jersey State Historical Commission and the Neighborhood Preservation Program. Many thanks goes out to Mayor Ernie Jr., Bill Cottman, Taylor Henry of the George F. Boyer Historical Museum, The Doo Wop Preservation League and Ben Rose, Marketing Director of GWTIDA.
