Don’t Forget to Bring Your Golf Clubs When Planning Your Wildwoods, NJ Getaway

The Wildwoods, NJ – May 20, 2020 Golf courses surrounding the Wildwoods, NJ – from Cape May National to the south, to Shore Gate Golf Club to the north – reopened to golfers in early May with social distancing restrictions to allow for safe play.

With hotels, motels and short-term rental properties scheduled to begin reopening in Wildwood and North Wildwood on Tuesday, May 26 and in Wildwood Crest properties on Monday, June 1, golfers are free to add golf to their vacation agendas in the Wildwoods.

“As more recreational options open up to the public, we are thrilled to add them to the already numerous activities vacationers can enjoy while here in the Wildwoods,” said Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority (GWTIDA) Executive Director/CFO John Siciliano.

Area courses – all within minutes of the Wildwoods – offer challenging yet playable holes and exquisite venues situated close to the ocean or bay; so, there’s always a mild breeze, plenty of spacious, scenic beauty, and lush, well-kept greens and fairways.

Social distancing restrictions at courses may include fewer tee times and fewer players allowed per round, in addition to non-sharing of golf carts and limited access to course facilities. With this in mind, plans should be made well in advance to fit your favorite pastime into your vacation or business schedule.

Additionally, short-term rental properties, like all aspects of reopening the Wildwoods for the summer, will take measures to meet social distancing guidelines by initially opening at 60% capacity – another reason to plan well ahead for a golf vacation. Increased sanitizing and cleaning protocols, especially in high-touch areas, will be encouraged to ensure an optimal visitor experience. Additional measures may include having later check-in times to allow additional time for guest room preparation and enhanced sanitizing.

Golf course developers and designers have realized the demand for the sport in the area and have discovered that the natural attributes found throughout the Jersey Cape are a perfect fit for unique and picturesque golf facilities. Whatever level of play, there is enough diversity in the layouts and designs of the golf courses in Cape May County to satisfy anyone who wants to make golf a part of their fun-filled vacation in the Wildwoods.
