GWTIDA is a partner with the municipalities of Wildwood Crest, City of Wildwood and North Wildwood in providing the infrastructure necessary for our tourism economy to thrive. The better our tourism economy performs, the better the payback is to our three cities.
GWTIDA’s commitment to assisting our partners shows in our financial support to North Wildwood and Wildwood’s SLEO Class II Boardwalk Police Officers, and for upkeep of Boardwalk bathrooms and the connecting Wildwood Crest bike path, totaling $340,000 in 2023. Additionally, almost $1.1 million was distributed to our municipalities in 2023 to offset the cost of beach maintenance, assisting in keeping our beaches clean, safe and FREE.
This support has existed for over two decades and our commitment continues to grow. In 2023 GWTIDA partnered with the Municipalities to bring Island wide transportation service back to the Wildwoods. This four-way split of the cost made the project feasible. This new service highlights how GWTIDA is continually working with our Municipal partners to find and fund ways to improve our tourism district and exceed the expectations of our visitors and residents.
