WILDWOOD, NJ, September 4, 2026 — The Wildwood Business Improvement District invites the community to gather at Byrne Plaza on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. for a Solemn Remembrance Ceremony commemorating the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Twenty-five years after the events that forever changed our nation, the ceremony will provide an opportunity for residents, visitors, first responders, community leaders and families to come together to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, honor the courage and sacrifice of first responders, and reflect on the spirit of unity that brought Americans together in the days that followed.
The ceremony will include participation by the City of Wildwood Color Guard, Wildwood Police and Fire Departments, along with the Mayor and Commissioners of the City of Wildwood. Local civic and religious leaders will also take part in the observance, offering reflections and joining the community in remembrance.
The 25th anniversary carries special significance as a generation has now passed since the attacks. The Wildwood Business Improvement District encourages members of the community of all ages to attend, both to honor those who lost their lives and to ensure that the events and sacrifices of September 11 are never forgotten.
The September 11th 25th Anniversary Solemn Remembrance Ceremony will be held Friday, September 11, at 10:00 a.m. at Byrne Plaza, 3400 Pacific Avenue in Downtown Wildwood. The event is sponsored by the Wildwood Business Improvement District and is open to the public.
