As the Wildwoods “Thunder Over the Waves” Airshow Soars into Town September 5-6, Enjoy a Weekend Filled with Family-Friendly Events

The Wildwoods, NJ – August 21, 2025 – The Wildwoods welcome the “Thunder Over the Waves” Airshow on September 5-6, 2025. Come for the awe-inspiring airshow and stay for the family-fun all weekend long!

The Wildwoods “Thunder Over the Waves” Airshow flies into town September 5 (practice day) and 6 (main event), 2025. Spectators can enjoy the show across the entire island with the beach and boardwalk areas showcasing optimal viewing areas. The center of the event takes place above the ocean between Morey’s Mariner’s Pier and Adventure Pier. Produced by David Schultz Airshows, the show features non-stop action and entertainment throughout the day!

The four-hour airshow includes headlining acts and military flyovers plus performances by the Fighter Jets Inc. MIG-17PF Jet Team, ACEMAKER Solo Aerobatic Demos in the T-33 Shooting Star, Jerry Conley in the DH-115 Vampire Jet among many other jets and propeller aircraft executing incredible aerobatic performances. The US Army Golden Knights Parachute Team will also be a part of the event along with the US Coast Guard.

Funding for the Wildwoods ‘Thunder Over the Waves’ Airshow comes from a combination of sources, including the GWTIDA, the Title Sponsor, the SJTA, and local and corporate sponsorships. While the Airshow is free to attend there are prime VIP viewing areas available for purchase, putting you in the center of all the action. For the ultimate in viewing comfort there are a limited number of exclusive Airshow Chalets available. The Chalets are 20’ x 30’ high ceiling tents with tables and chairs, unlimited soda, water and ice and 60 viewing chairs outside the tent at show center, Also available at show center are Show Center VIP seating and Beach Club seating. Yoga on the Beach

Friday, September 5 – Monday, September 8

Enjoy a bit of relaxation and grounding with Yoga on the Beach at Burk Avenue behind the Wildwoods Convention Center. Yoga takes place at 9 a.m. daily from Friday, September 5 through Monday, September 8. Practice with the sun, surf, and sand for a unique experience featuring a traditional Hatha yoga style class, infused with Qi Gong, a variety of healing therapies, and lots of modifications for all levels. North Wildwood Recreation Surf Fishing Competition

The North Wildwood Recreation Department’s 56th Annual Surf Fishing Competition will take place Friday, September 5 through Sunday, September 7. Registration, just a $15 participation fee, is held at the Gazebo at 3rd and JFK Boulevard in North Wildwood. The tournament takes place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sunday. Roots Classic 4 – Volkswagen Car Show

The Roots Classic 4 – Volkswagen Car show promises another year of memory-making excitement Friday, September 5 through Sunday, September 7, 2025. Relive the nostalgia of ‘back in the day’ with Pre Show GTGs through the weekend. Cars will be on display at various outdoor locations on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday will also feature an indoor judged Pre-2k water-cooled car show, promoting community driven pre-2k relevant vendors. Show times and admission fee TBA. New Year’s in North Wildwood

The Mummers return to the Wildwoods on Friday and Saturday, September 5-6, 2025, to celebrate New Year’s in North Wildwood. Over a dozen String Bands including the top bands from the 2025 New Year’s Day Parade in Philadelphia, PA, will be featured as the Mummers Parade steps off at 5 p.m. to Olde New Jersey Avenue, beginning at 2nd Street and concluding at Spruce Avenue. PigDog Puppa Palooza

Sunday, September 7

The PigDog Puppa Palooza will be held on Sunday, September 7, at Morey’s Piers Raging Waters Water Park. The event offers a fun-filled day for dogs and their owners with two main pass options: the Beach Walk & Pool Party Pass and the Pool Party Pass. The Beach Walk and Pool Party Pass includes access to a scenic one-mile beach walk – available at 9:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.- followed by an exclusive Doggie Pool Party session at Raging Waters Water Park. The Pool Party Pass grants access to a separate one-hour pool session starting at 1:30 p.m., without the beach walk. Spectator passes for accompanying humans are also available for purchase. While dogs can enjoy the water attractions, humans are not allowed in the pools. All participants must arrive during their selected time slot and bring printed e-tickets. Greg DiAntonio Memorial Reggae Fest

The 13th Annual Greg DiAntonio Memorial Reggae Fest will be held at Urie’s Waterfront Restaurant in Wildwood to celebrate the life of Greg DiAntonio from 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 7. Proceeds benefit the Greg DiAntonio Memorial Fund which helps individuals and families struggling with substance use disorders as well as Wildwood Catholic Academy. Tickets are $70. The event will feature live music, live and Chinese auctions, a seafood buffet with other entrée options, beer, wine, and more.
