Events, festivals, concerts, competitions, and celebrations on tap for 2024
The Wildwoods, NJ – May 30, 2024 – With more than 160 special events and festivals throughout the year, most of them free, some might consider the Wildwoods the “Events Capital of the East Coast.” No other location in the region offers the number and variety of special events and festivals the Wildwoods offer annually.
The events take place at various locations throughout the island’s three distinct municipalities: Wildwood, Wildwood Crest, and North Wildwood. Visitors can find an event happening nearly every day or night of the week throughout the summer at locations including the Wildwoods Convention Center, Byrne Plaza, Fox Park, Olde New Jersey Avenue’s entertainment district, on the beach, and on the world-famous Wildwoods Boardwalk.
The Wildwoods’ annual calendar of events not only draws visitors to the family resort but also provides additional activities and entertainment outlets to those already visiting for vacation or business. From sporting events to fishing tournaments, food, and music festivals, and even a national marbles championship, the Wildwoods have developed a unique offering of special events and festivals not equaled in any other resort destinations.

June 1-2 – Anglesea Open Pickleball Tournament
The 2nd Annual Anglesea Open Pickleball Tournament takes place at Allen Park, 2200 Delaware Ave., North Wildwood, sponsored by the Anglesea Irish Society. Offering Mixed, Men’s, and Women’s doubles for skill levels 2.5 – 4.0+, ages 19+ and 50+. Game play starts at 8 a.m. both days. Prizes will be awarded based on initial registered bracket. June 1-2 – PigDog Beach Volleyball Classic
The 3rd annual PigDog Beach Volleyball Classic will take place Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2. Featured courts will be located at Morey’s PigDog Beach Bar, on the beach between Oak and Maple Avenues. Teams of two and six will compete in various divisions. Top level players compete for prize money, and all lower divisions play for merchandise prizes. Play begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 6 p.m. daily. June 1-2 – Hoop Island, USA Basketball Tournament
HOOP ISLAND, USA, presented by Develup Hoops, is the Jersey Shore’s Largest Premier Basketball Tournament! This high-profile event left a HUGE impact across the Northeast. The Beach Jam, presented by Develup Hoops, is the second part of their summer tournament series at the shore. June 15 – Jersey Shore ALS United Ride
This year’s Jersey Shore ALS United Ride will feature fully supported routes including support vehicles and rest stops. June 15 – Create in the Crest Art Festival
The third annual Create in the Crest Arts Festival takes place on Saturday, June 15 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in Centennial Park, Wildwood Crest. June 17-20 – National Marbles Tournament
The Wildwoods will host its 101st National Marbles Tournament at Ringer Stadium, located at Wildwood Avenue and the beach. This year marks the official 101st anniversary for this national competition in the sport of marbles for boys and girls ages 8-14 that have qualified by winning local tournaments throughout the United States. More than 1,200 games of Ringer marbles will be played throughout the tournament! The champions, the “King” & “Queen” of marbles, will be crowned on the last day of the tournament. June 20-23 – Barefoot Country Music Fest
The Northeast’s largest outdoor country music festival on the beach returns to the Wildwoods in 2024 with the Barefoot Country Music Fest (BCMF), taking place Friday, June 21 through Sunday, June 23, with a kick-off concert scheduled for the evening of Thursday, June 20. The four-day event will host over 30 of country music’s biggest stars and up-and-comers on multiple stages on the beach. With the combination of country music on the beach and the scenic ocean backdrop, this family-friendly festival is sure to attract thousands of new visitors of all ages. Main stage acts include Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Kane Brown, and many, many more! June 29-30 – Cape Express Beach Blast Soccer
Cape Express Beach Blast Soccer will feature youth and adult soccer teams from all over the East Coast competing in a barefoot soccer tournament on Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30. Games are played on the Wildwoods Beaches, between Spencer and Poplar Avenues. Over 1,000 teams will compete on the sand in the largest sand soccer tournament in the world! Starstruck Dance Challenge will hold a national dance championship at the Wildwoods Convention Center from 11 a.m.- 7 p.m. daily (times are subject to change). July 4 – Independence Day Family Parade
Join the fun or cheer from the side as the Independence Day Family Parade marches from 9th and Atlantic Avenues in North Wildwood and proceeds north to 1st and Surf Avenues starting at 9 a.m. Participants can check in at 9th and Atlantic Avenues to registration from 8:15-8:45 a.m. Prizes will be awarded for the best decorated bikes wagons, strollers, scooters, and low speed vehicles in red, white, and blue theme. The Patriotic Pooch Parade joins the Independence Day Family Parade at 8th & Atlantic Avenues and proceeds north to 1st & Surf Avenues. BALL ANYWHERE! UBALL is a fast-paced new game that is taking America by storm. Hosted by Morey’s Piers, this “no dribbling” version of 3-on-3 basketball is played right on the sand. The Wildwoods Convention Center hosts the Dance Xplosion National Dance Finals Monday, July 8 through Saturday, July 13. National dance finalists from studios all over the country will compete for cash and prizes. Competition features solos, duets, trios, small groups, large groups, line, and productions, ranging from amateur to experienced dancers. The New Jersey Jeep Invasion is the largest gathering of Jeeps in the northeast with over 2,000 Jeeps in attendance, and over 100 of the top vendors in the industry. All Jeeps and vendors are parked on the beach for this three day event, which even includes a beach obstacle course. The Police and Fire Survivors 5K Run/1 Mile Walk is a fundraiser which benefits the survivors of police/fire who died in the line of duty. All are welcome to participate! It’s the largest beach Frisbee tournament in the world celebrating 32 years in 2024, featuring more than 500 teams from all over the globe! This annual event is held on the Wildwood beach from Spicer to Schellenger Avenues and Oak to 26th Avenue. This fun event for infants and toddlers (up to 2-years-old) is a chance to show off your baby’s speedy crawling or “waddling” technique on the day before the official Wildwoods Baby Parade. The Baby Waddle takes place at 9:30 a.m. on the grassy circle in front of the Wildwoods Convention Center. Registration will begin at the circle at 9 a.m. The Waddle will begin at 9:30 a.m. SHARP! Registration is FREE. The first 40 entries will receive a sand bucket filled with fun prizes, and one winner in each category will receive a special grand prize of passes to Morey’s Piers. August 3-4 – ‘Battle at the Beach’ Grappling Tournament
The North American Grappling Association (NAGA) is the world’s largest mixed grappling organization with over 700,000 competitors worldwide. August 7 – National Lighthouse Day
National Lighthouse Day on Sunday, August 7 marks the 235th anniversary of the signing of the 1789 United States Lighthouse Act. The ceremony takes place at Hereford Inlet Lighthouse, 111 North Central Avenue, North Wildwood with a formal patriotic ceremony honoring the historic lighthouse and Wildwoods Coast Guard heritage. The Wildwood Baseball on the Beach Tournaments, presented by Mud Hen Events and partnered with Morey’s Piers, is an annual youth baseball tournament held right on the beach! Fields are located at the peak of Rio Grande Ave. right behind the Wildwoods Sign. The tournament is for youth baseball teams 9U-15U. The 21st Annual Stampone O’Brien Dilsheimer Law Tri the Wildwoods Triathlon has been the flagship race for DelMoSports. Before TRI AC, before Escape the Cape, and before IRONMAN 70.3 Atlantic City there was Tri the Wildwoods. Coined a “Rite of Passage Race,” by the Cape May Star & Wave, Tri the Wildwoods has always been known as a race of unpredictable weather, a challenging course, and possibly the best after party for a triathlon in the state of New Jersey!
